Youth Brighten the Day at Todd Towers
Apr 20th
On April 17, twenty-four youth and thirteen adults gathered at First Baptist Church, Huntsville as part of their journey on the Hometown Pilgrimage, joining youth groups from throughout the city at Serving the City as One. The youth worked together to assemble and deliver 114 gift baskets for residents of Todd Towers in downtown Huntsville. Through this service, the youth continued to get to know one another and build relationships across ethnic, cultural, and religious divides. You can see more pictures of the event here.
Next Stop on the Hometown Pilgrimage: Serving the City as One
Apr 8th
The IMS Cooperative invites youth to join us on our third stop on the Hometown Pilgrimage. Serving the City as One will begin at 7:30 am and end at 1:00 pm for Hometown Pilgrim participants on Saturday, April 17, 2010. The gathering point will be First Baptist Church of Huntsville. St. John’s AME and Church Street Cumberland Presbyterian Church are coordinating our project in this larger event. Pilgrims will deliver gift baskets to residents of Todd Towers. The event will also include skits, music, mixer activities, and a debriefing to help our student pilgrims to process this experience. For more information, please contact Al Garrett or Kerry Holder Joffrion.
