At the ISC Annual Meeting, Jane will be recognized as Citizen Diplomat of the Year for her service in the cause of building relationships and respect for other cultures around the world. Jane has frequently hosted foreign visitors to Huntsville and has coordinated Interfaith Dialogue panels that discuss topics of interest to the visitors. The visitors are selected by our American Embassies, and their itineraries are coordinated by the International Services Council.
Jane is a member of the Interfaith Mission Service Special Ministry Team. She and her husband John are members of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Madison, Ala. As part of an Army family as a child and as a wife, Jane lived in a number of European cities and always immersed herself in the local cultures. She has had a lifelong interest in comparative religion and the history of religion and culture.
The ISC Annual Meeting and Citizen Diplomacy Luncheon will be held Tuesday, October 9, 2012, at The Jackson Center, 6001 Moquin Drive, NW, Huntsville. FY2012 has been a banner year for ISC having hosted close to 200 international visitors in Alabama in partnership with the Department of State’s International Visitor Leadership Program, the Library of Congress, and two new programs– the Fulbright Scholars and the Kosovo Youth Exchange Program.
