This special event coordinates the efforts of the faith community, encouraging all different faiths, cultures, and backgrounds to work together on projects that benefit deserving agencies in our community.

Men, women, boys and girls will work at various organizations in the Huntsville/Madison County area on the Day of Service and Unity (DSU) sprucing up, painting, pulling weeds, cutting grass and whatever the participating organizations are in need of. Projects vary in terms of skills and exertion; however there will be something for everyone to do regardless of age. Download a copy of the Save the Date Card to share with your congregation, classroom, civic group, family and friends.

PEACE Rally – Friday, September 20th

An event to bring the community out to pray for peace in our city and nation; to share in music; and have fun fellowship prior to our working side-by-side on the DSU. The Peace Rally will be held in the Big Springs Park Friday, September 20th starting at 5:00 p.m. Bring your lawn chair and join us in lighting a candle for peace.

Plant a garden of pin wheels on your congregation’s lawn. We’re asking congregations for the month of September to place pin wheels and banners on their property that will bring awareness to the Day of Service and Unity on the International Day of Peace. Be creative and decorate your own pin wheels (or feel free to purchase them) to symbolize prayers of peace for our community and our nation.
