Day of Service and Unity on the International Day of Peace
September 22, 2012
On Saturday, September 22, the Interfaith Mission Services (IMS) will sponsor the annual Day of Service and Unity in Madison County. This year it will be held in conjunction with the International World Day of Peace, changing the name to “Day of Service and Unity on the International Day of Peace.” Eleven years ago IMS began coordinating the efforts of the faith community encouraging all different faiths, cultures, and backgrounds to come together on behalf of the deserving agencies in our community.
Men, women, boys and girls will work at various organizations on the Day of Service and Unity on the International Day of Peace sprucing up, painting, pulling weeds, cutting grass and whatever the targeted organizations are in need of. Won’t you come out and join us! Projects will vary in terms of skills and exertion; however there will be something for everyone to do regardless of age.
