Heart to Heart: A Progressive Hometown Pilgrimage

Co-sponsored by IMS and Beloved Community Alabama, this is an opportunity to observe or experience worship in different faith traditions in a structured environment that allows for questions and dialogue with leaders from the represented congregations following the service. The focus is on experiencing different spiritual cultures and making a commitment to deepen understanding of each one void of conversion attempts. Participants are welcome to attend any or all of the sessions but registration is requested so adequate seating is reserved.
The 2008 Pilgrimage begins in February and continues through April 19th.

Heart to Heart is intended to foster greater understanding between local faith neighbors. Huntsville is blessed with an abundance of gloval cultures. We have the unprecedented opportunity to expand our understanding of each other by journeying with fellow "pilgrams" to actually experience the traditions of other faiths.

Most have read about other religions and spiritual cultures. Yet, few have actually taken the time to experience what another's spiritual practices are and more especially why the practice is significant for its adherents. The main idea is to focus on different spiritual communities and to make a commitment to deepen understanding of each one without conversion attempts.
